Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American actress, producer and director. She is most famous for playing the role of Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson (TVN crime drama The Closer). Sedgwick won two Emmy Awards in the years 2010 and 2007 for her performance as Johnson. After the seventh season Sedgwick received a Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in the year 2010. The show ended on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick is also well-known for her role as a regular on Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated for an Golden Globe award in 1995 for her performance on Something to Talk About. Sedgwick's other roles in films include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's Ones (1992) as well as Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) and What's cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick was an New York City native, the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald) was an educator and family therapist as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick VI as an investor in venture capital. Her mother was Jewish, was of English and Episcopalian descent. Sedgwick has identified herself as Jewish and has said that she attends Passover seders.
